Landmark car destroyed in arson attack on Glenshane Pass

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of arson to a vehicle on the Glenshane Road in the Maghera area.

Constable Chambers said: “It was reported that at approximately 2am on Tuesday November 8 the well-known vehicle bearing the Maghera Granite signage on the Glenshane road was set ablaze. Firefighters arrived shortly after, however the vehicle by that stage had been destroyed by the fire.

"We are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Magherafelt Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 54 of 8/11/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
