They travel to Casement Park to contest the Ulster Junior semi-final against Tyrone side Derrytresk with a 12.45 throw in time. The Craigavon side had to endure an Ulster baptism of fire in their opening round game against Belfast side O’Donnell’s but showed tenacity and a great degree of fitness to secure a 0-6 to 0-3 win. Having despatched favourites Tullysaran in the opening round of the Armagh series the Ogs went on to become a model of consistency losing just once in their league campaign and taking the scalp of a decent St. Pat’s Cullyhanna outfit before going on to defeat favourites Clonmore in the Armagh final. The Pinebank outfit, however, had to win ugly in their provincial opener and although they did not show anywhere near the rhythm they showed against Clonmore in the county final but it is that experience which could stand by Éire Óg as they attempt to reach the Ulster decider. Their opponents, Derrytresk, hail from the Tyrone Division Three which is highly competitive and the Red Hand side look hot favourites to reach the final. All three Armagh Championship winning teams are in action this Sunday and the Éire Óg game will provide the curtain raiser to the Ulster Senior semi-final between Crossmaglen and Ballinderry.
