ACADEMY: Under 13's beat Mid Ulster in League Cup

Coleraine opened their account with only six minutes of the game gone, Oliver Ferris floated his free kick over the top of the Dungannon defence perfectly into the path of Jeff Purdy, who smashed the ball past the advancing keeper. The Coleraine boys dominated the remainder of the first half with Purdy, Henderson and Thompson all having good chances to extend the lead, only to be denied by the Dungannon keeper. Dungannon started the second half strongly and thought they had equallised on 35 minutes from a well taken free-kick on the edge of the box. The ref however had blown his whistle before the ball had hit the net for offside against one of the Dungannon forwards. To make matters worse for Dungannon, Coleraine immediately went to the other end of the pitch and scored their second goal when the ball again found its way to Purdy who found the top corner of the net. Coleraine scored their third on 45 minutes when Krissy Thompson collected the ball on the edge of the Dungannon 18 yard box, turned onto his right foot and thumped the ball into the net. On 53 minutes Oliver Ferris scored an excellent individual goal, he won a crunching tackle in mid-field, rounded three defenders and steered the ball into the right hand corner of the net. The Under 13 Community Team were away to Donemana on Saturday. The team secured a solid win with goals from Callun Greer (3), Aaron Finlay (2), Jordan Loney (1), Jack O'Doherty (1), Callun McKinney (1), Lukasz Silakonski (1). U9's Coleraine Colts Under-9's got off to a shaky start against Ballysally and went behind early on with a goal which Kian Arthur could do nothing about. The Colts started to find their rhythm and took the game to Ballysally with Rhys Ewings coming close to an equaliser. Ballysally broke and Andy Carr made a tackle in the box that was deemed a foul and a penalty was awarded. Kian got his fingertips to it but was unlucky not to keep it out. Kyle Scroggie pulled a goal back for Coleraine at the start of the second half. And they were unlucky not to draw level after Kyle was fouled in the box, but Billy Dougan's penalty was well saved. As the Colts pushed forward looking for an equaliser they were caught on the break and Ballysally scored a third goal. Man of the Match: Andy Carr. U10's Both Coleraine U10 teams came up against each other on Saturday. Both teams cancelled each other out and it was late in the first half before the first goal came when captain Kori Doherty put the Academy ahead. Louis McAlary then scored in the dying minutes of the first half to give the Academy a 2-0 lead. After the break, Aaron McCooke scored a brilliant goal for the Colts to put them right back in the game. Both 'keepers, Rhys Carton and Joshua Dunn, pulled off some really good saves but it was Scott Weir from the Academy who put the game to bed and secured the points. Academy Man of the Match: Kori Doherty Colts Man of the Match: Aaron McCooke. U11's Coleraine Alexandra took on Maiden City on Saturday. Coleraine made a bright start and were unlucky to fall behind on 20 minutes as a shot deflected off Krystof Silowaski ended up with a Maiden City player who slotted the ball into the back of the net. The goal knock the Coleraine lads confidence and they conceded twice more before the break. Coleraine threw everything at their opponents following the restart but they were hit on the break with the visitors scoring again. The hosts deservedly pulled a goal back after a great run by Alan Dunn, who teed up Connor Lundy to fire home. Man of the Match: Alan Dunn. U12's Coleraine Academy U12`s took on Moyola Park U13s in the NW League at the Crescent. The Wee Bannsiders started the game well knowing the key was to try to play good football against this physically stronger Moyola side. Coleraine opened the scoring on 15 minutes as Ellis' free kick was smashed off the bar by Walker allowing Ritchie to head into an empty net. Coleraine were now dominating and they made it 2-0 as Harte's corner found Waddell on the edge of the box and his shot was deflected in to the net by Patrick Gault. However, just before half time Moyola pulled a goal back. Coleraine started the second half poorly and a misjudgement by the keeper allowed Moyola to equalise. The visitors were on top now and they made it 3-2 soon after. This woke Coleraine up with Gault crashing a shot off the bar. Coleraine got the goal they deserved from a cross from Ellis on the left found McGregor his shot deflected to Gault who rifled home. Coleraine then had several chances to snatch a victory at the end then in the final minute Moyola broke after sloppy play from Coleraine and their big striker fired a shot off the bottom of the post Man of The Match: Joshua McGregor. U16's The Under 16 Community Team played Glebeside at Rugby Avenue on Saturday in the North West & Coleraine Cup. The home side started the brighter of the two teams with Aaron Devlin having a couple of early shots on goal from outside the box. Aaron then played a ball through to Mark (Sparky) McGillon who scored. The Bannsiders were dominating play but it was not all plain sailing, the services of keeper Peter Tosh were called upon to keep the home side from conceding. Glebeside equalised from a free-kick on their right hand side, the ball was lobed which trick the Coleraine keeper. Coleraine continued to push but were unable to score from their chances. Early in the second half 'Sparky' made a run at the Glebe defence and was awarded a penalty when he was brought down. Mark Donnelly scored from the spot to retake the lead. Near the final whistle and Donnelly clinched his brace, the team now progress to the semi-finals.
